Use the below form to generate a new and unique GroupID. Make sure that all the lamps use the same GroupID. If you need help setting up your lamp then please go to our setup guide.
Once you complete the form, we’ll send you an email with your GroupID. If you cannot find your confirmation email, please check your spam folder or contact us.
Where Do I Enter the Group ID? See bolded text below:
- The first step is to connect the lamp to a Wi-Fi network and a Group ID. On your iOS or Android smartphone, open the Wi-Fi settings, tap the Friend Lamp network ID (SSID), and tap Sign In.
- In the next screen, tap the Configure Wi-Fi button to go to the network and ID selection page.
- Select the Wi-Fi SSID (the one you wish to connect the lamp to), enter the Group ID that was sent to your email address that was used to order the friendship lamp, enter the WiFi password, and tap the Save button. You will be taken back to the Wi-Fi settings page in a few moments.
Is the Group ID Secure?
Absolutely! As long as you and others using the friendship lamps on the same network are the only ones with the Group ID, it’s as secure as can be. However, it’s only as secure as your Wi-Fi connection so use a strong and unique password for your Wi-Fi. Also, make sure that the Group ID is not stored in a location where it may be compromised. Treat it like a password and you’ll be safe.
I Didn’t Receive the Email with my Group ID. What Do I Do?
As mentioned at the top of this page, if you haven’t received your confirmation email with the Group ID, please check your spam folder. Those darned things often end up there for first-time emails! Don’t worry if you still can’t find it. You can always use the form on the Contact Us page to let us know, and we’ll generate a fresh Group ID for you. Additionally, you can also whitelist our email address to make sure you receive all future communication from us. Don’t worry, we hate spam as much as you do so we’ll keep any communication to the bare minimum.
